On Friday, Donald Trump was up in New York campaigning. Not for himself, but does he ever really do anything that’s not for himself? He was in Nassau County stumping for his longtime friend Bruce Blakeman, trying to help him unseat Governor Kathy Hochul. Nothing new there. The man is a walking Hatch Act violation.
What caught my attention wasn’t the rally. It was the backdrop.
Row after row of law enforcement officers standing behind him. Clapping. Hanging on every word, including when he bragged that “we killed DEI” and then gestured at the officers behind him like props. “I don’t see the people behind me big on DEI. That’s not a DEI group, I can tell.”
Kind of ironic, considering the number of women and Latino officers standing right there behind him.
I wore that uniform for over 15 years. I believe policing is one of the most noble professions there is, when you do it for the people and not for a power kick. Protect and serve. That’s the job description. So watching officers stand there and cheer for the man who fomented the mob that beat and sprayed and stabbed my coworkers on January 6th, the man who pardoned the people who assaulted us and now wants to pay them?
It’s an absolute disgrace.

Agree with you 100% Harry. To be a prop for a convicted felon doesn’t speak much of a persons integrity. To be an acolyte for a sexual abuser, adjudicated pedophile and felon is hypocrisy for the oath of a law enforcement officer.
Amazed any Police Officer would stand with a president who was FINE to have Police Officers BEATEN on Jan 6, 2021. The president made many statements on National TV encouraging his supporters to follow through with SURPRISE PLANS for January 6th. Are Police Officers FORGETTING how Trump enouraged the J6 Riots, Destruction, with Police Officers out numbered & HARMED ? ? ?
