I need you to hear this part just as clearly as you heard everything else.
The guardrails are holding. Not because they were built to hold under this kind of pressure. They weren’t. They’re holding because people are standing their ground.
Democracy Defenders Fund and Campaign Legal Center have filed lawsuits against Trump’s 2025 and 2026 executive orders on voting. Twenty-four Democratic AGs joined together to block USPS restrictions on mail voting. They went to federal court in Massachusetts. They got a 14-day restraining order.
DOJ appealed all the way to the Supreme Court.
And lost.
Read that again. They took it to SCOTUS. And the courts said no.
This is happening over and over. The bad guys are moving fast and they keep running into walls. Not because the walls were always there. Because people built them. Lawyers, organizers, attorneys general, advocates, voters who showed up and kept showing up.
I stood on those Capitol steps on January 6th. I’ve thought a lot about what it means to hold a line, to physically, literally hold a line when everything in you is saying move. That’s what this moment is. That’s what these lawsuits are. That’s what showing up in November is.
They cannot win on policy. They know that. So they are trying to change who gets to vote. That’s what’s in front of us.
Sixty days.
