I think it's disgraceful that anyone could ask you why you're not "moving on". If our disgrace of a President hadn't pardoned those insurrectionists, and they were paying their dues, it might be easier. If tRUMP and MAGA had disappeared from sight after the election in 2020, it might be easier. But, this country is in dire straits, and the events of Jan. 6 still loom large. Of course these people want to move on. They don't want to remember the violence that was committed and then pardoned in the name of Trump. If you and your fellow officers hadn't been so brave and they'd actually hung a member of Congress would they still be staying the same thing. So what I remember is you held the line and saved lives and democracy.
Spot on, Harry. You have a few politicians who were cornered in the Capitol that night, crapping their shorts, then turning right around and starting to belittle the cops and other security, calling for pardons. I think of the fist-pumping Josh Hawley one moment, then spotted later running down the hallway of the Capitol looking for a place to hide. What a wanker. How these types with low character get elected is beyond me. The 69% who think one should get beyond it have never been outnumbered 200 or 300 to 1, getting pepper sprayed, battered with flag poles, stabbed with knives, and generally brutalized. My hat is off to all those cops who held the line. My biggest complaint is Merrick Garland- slow-moving, hemming and hawing.
