Unfortunately, the candidate in question wasn't carefully vetted; much like just skimming an article or, even worse, just reading the headline, too many people made hasty decisions based on what they wanted to believe.
I'm sorry the situation developed, but I believe if the Democratic party in Maine acts quickly, they may yet put up a worthy candidate.

I am so glad that you mentioned character today because for the life of me "I DO NOT UNDERSTAND" how those people voted for the current occupant of The White House... He is a horrible man and why was that not a factor in their decision making? "Character Matters Period Point Blank" and I wish that was a prerequisite for anyone (Democrat, Independent, Republican, Other) who considers running for office. I know that we as humans are not perfect but there should be at least some standards (honesty, Integrity, respect, and trust) especially for those wanting to hold office and represent themselves as leaders for the American people. Or I am just being naive???.

I think the culture has changed at least for the Capitol Police, because of you, Police Officer Dunn, and your colleagues. That is a step towards a new policing. Thank you for your continued service, sir!
Thank you Harry. I thought this was another request for donations. I get so many requests for contributions every day that I had to stop donating. Dozens every day. I believe I did donate to your campaign earlier on, and will probably do again but in the past I have donated thousands that I could not afford and mostly my donations did not result in successes. There are people who I want to see win, it has become a bit of a chore to delete the texts and emails. The Dems have to rely on our contributions but I have so many needs including both my wife and I are beginning to accrue substantial medical costs. The price of getting old. I will upgrade to paid in substack if that helps. You are right to talk about the dilemma that Platner has created for us on the left. I was so excited with his candidacy but he has to go.
